This is one privatization experiment that has blown up too many times.

If Gov. Bush is willing to shoulder the blame when things go wrong, he must also take it upon himself to remedy this disastrous situation. Hurricane victims should not have to wait for help because the government can't get its act together.

Clearly, someone throwing a net from the bridge is a hazard, and I urge motorists who see this to call the Florida Highway Patrol or the St. Pete Police if they notice this going on.

I recently put a sign up in front of the building, and I've had I don't know how many people stop by and call - they're just waiting for me to get open. If it continues like this I will be one happy camper- and one tired one, too.

That section of road is within the city limits, but the roadway we are talking about is (Florida) Department of Transportation property. The DOT has already posted signs that prohibit bicycles and pedestrians from being on the span of bridge that's the Fourth Street exit off of I-275. And after taking a look at the area, I can see that people fishing there could be a real hazard, so they (DOT officials) probably need to post no fishing signs there so that it's a very clear message.

This gives us a second chance to prove that Tampa is a better place, rather than the impression we left. None of the things that happened in the past will happen this time. We'll keep our fingers crossed. But I don't think they will.

No project is perfect, they all have their drawbacks. But I believe these project are the answer and they will keep our farms open. These projects seem like a fit for our area. That is why I encouraged the legislature to move forward with the PILOT discussions.
